A sport utility vehicle driven by the wife of bicyclist Floyd Landis was struck from behind by a pickup truck Friday in the 200 block of South Reading Road, Ephrata Borough, police said.
Amber Landis, a California resident, was attempting to turn left from the northbound lane into the Green Mountain Cyclery parking lot at 6:04 p.m., police said. The impact of the collision forced Landis' SUV into the southbound lane, where it collided with a car traveling south.
Floyd Landis' publicist, whose name was not available Friday night, was a passenger in the SUV. She and Amber Landis declined treatment at the scene.
Floyd Landis was giving interviews to local press at the time of the accident. The Landises were not available for comment after the crash.
The driver of the pickup, Kevin Martin Jr., no age provided, of Lititz, was unhurt, Ephrata police said.
No charges had been filed as of Friday night.
The southbound vehicle was driven by Rhiannon Kauffman of Ephrata, police said. Three passengers, not identified by police, were transported to Ephrata Community Hospital for treatment.
Details of their conditions were not available Friday night.
