ASSETS Lancaster will unveil a new entrepreneur-training program and present three awards at its annual dinner at 6:30 tonight in Wheatland Place.
The program, named ASSETS 2.0, will teach entrepreneurs how to use computer technology for accounting, presentations, e-commerce and other business purposes.
To be launched in June, the six-week program will meet a need that was identified last year by a study of graduates of ASSETS' core training course.
The program will be offered in the ASSETS Technology Center, in the ASSETS office at 237 N. Prince St. Funding for the center and program was provided by the Microsoft Foundation and the John Frederick Steinman Foundation.
Also at the "Gateways to Success" dinner, ASSETS will present three awards.
Henry Stauffer, owner of Image Keepers, a commercial cleaning service, will be named the "Entrepreneur of the Year." Carol Cooper of Century 21 Fagan & Associates will receive the "Volunteer Trainer-Mentor Award." The "Earl H. Hess Spirit of Community Award" will go to Don Horning of New Holland.
The keynote speaker at the dinner will be Sam Beiler, president and chief executive officer of Auntie Anne's Inc.
