Cocalico junior Samantha Santoro captured the Eastern Pennsylvania High School Bowling Championship girls' singles title Saturday night with a 245 score in her final match.
Santoro finished in second place in last year's state tourney.
Elizabethtown's Derek Boozer placed third and Manheim Township's DJ Thatcher was fourth in the boys' competition. Both earned both earning state medals.
In the finals, Santoro used nine straight strikes to down top-seeded finalist Nicole Drejerwski, of Conwell Egan, 245 to 180.
"Once I was able to get on the lane that was giving me some trouble, I felt good and thought I had a good chance to win," said Santoro.
She added that she dedicated her performance to the late Lisa Bowman, a friend and elite county bowler.
Both Boozer and Thatcher were pleased to finish as high as they did in the competition.
"With the sport lane conditions, I was really excited about my finish," Boozer said.
Team tournament: Only one L-L League team qualified for the finals today. Cedar Crest's boys' team qualified with a sixth-place finish in preliminary rounds with each team rolling six games. The Warwick girls just missed the finals by two pins.
