Casual Corner, a retailer that offers women’s career and casual apparel, has begun store closing sales at its locations nationwide. Three Lancaster stores are among those conducting 40-to-60-percent-off sales.
Casual Corner has two locations in Park City Center and one in Rockvale Outlets. It opened its first store here in 1953 at 155 E. King St.
The sales began Nov. 25 and will continue until all merchandise is sold.
In August, Casual Corner’s parent company was sold to Gordon Brothers Group LLC, a Boston-based business that specializes in liquidating retail inventories and closing stores.
Casual Corner, founded in 1950, said in a press release that all its stores are slated for closure or transfer to a third party.
Casual Corner stores, including Casual Corner Annex and Petite Sophisticate, are located in 42 states, as well as Puerto Rico.
New stores at Rockvale
Aeropostale Outlet opened in mid-November at Rockvale Outlets in a 4,000-square-foot store near the new Pottery Barn.
The retailer sells casual apparel and accessories for 11- to 18-year-olds. They have another store in Park City.
Also in Rockvale Outlets, sportswear apparel retailer Medalist opened in early October in a 5,200-square-foot store between Secret Sneaker and Geoffrey Beane.
Medalist sells inner athletic wear worn by the likes of the New York Yankees, special forces of the U.S. Military and NASA astronauts, according to the company’s Web site.
Antique “moon” closing
After 12 years, Moongate Antiques, 50 N. Queen St., is closing. The store, which sells Chinese antiques and furniture, will shut its doors after the holiday season.
Owner David Steudler said the store will offer 30 percent off all merchandise until Dec. 23.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Hours will be extended in December.
Cybercafe in Ephrata
Vaitl Chat Cafe, a cybercafe in Ephrata, will celebrate its grand opening Thursday. The cafe at 9 W. Main Street is in a 1,700-square-foot space next to ParkHill Jewelers, formerly occupied by Country Accents.
The new cybercafe will offer six computers for Internet, as well as an XBox360 and Playstation for gamers.
The cafe also has satellite radio, two flat-screen TVs and a wireless Internet signal for customers with their own laptop.
The cafe has seating for five at the bar and room for 10 in the lounge/cafe area.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 12 noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Lititz is where Home store is
A new home decor shop, Home Inspirations, opened last month at 2832 Lititz Pike. Owner Pat Ditzler has previously operated a home decor business, but Home Inspirations is her first retail shop.
The store sells home accessories with a European flair, including candles, soaps, wall art, urns, lamps and chandeliers.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The shop will also be open noon to 3 p.m. during the first three Sundays in December.
